Introduction: the paper examines the aspects of improving the legal consolidation of the methods of activities of the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of Russia when they perform supervision performed in the field of the legislation to protect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of minors and young people. In modern scientific discourse and law enforcement practice, quite often there are opposing positions of scientistsprocessualists and human rights defenders on the issue of improving the legal regulation of the prosecutor’s activities in the described area. The authors pay special attention to the ambiguous practice of implementing certain provisions in the field of application of supervision methods and the acts of the prosecutor ’s response in the field of protection of the rights of minors. Within the framework of the paper, the authors set a goal to form and express individual novels to improve the legal regulation of the prosecutor’s supervision over the execution of laws in relation to persons under the age of 18 and older. Methods: the methodological core of the study is a comparative legal analysis taken in conjunction with such methods of scientific cognition as analysis, synthesis. Results: the authors have proposed the main directions of the prosecutor’s supervisory activities to improve work with minors and young people, with the aim of private and general prevention of their criminal behavior, and also noted some shortcomings in the methods of response of prosecutors in these areas, which has contributed to the formulation of some novelties in the studied problem. Conclusions: the authors have analyzed the current model of procuracy employees’ response to the criminal behavior of minors and youth, contributed to the detection of significant problems in the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of these categories of citizens, as well as timely and rapid adjustment of the model of means and methods of procuracy employees’ response to the criminal behavior of juvenile offenders and persons involved in criminal activity from among the youth. To develop a uniform system for implementing the concept of prosecutorial activity in the described area, it is necessary to focus on the sectoral divisions of the prosecutor’s offices of the subjects of the Russian Federation, or entrust it to the most experienced employees. It is necessary to carry out current and long-term planning in this direction.
