Introduction: through the example of the project in the field of regulation of the legal activity “state legal bureau”, such a method of “smart legal regulation” as a legal experiment is demonstrated. The task is to identify errors in the implementation of this method of “smart legal regulation”. Methods: the methodological framework for the study is a combination of the following methods of scientific knowledge: the hermeneutical method, the method of systematicity, and the method of analysis. Results: the author has identified the errors that can be made during the use of “smart legal regulation” methods. Conclusions: a feature of such a method of “smart legal regulation” as a legal experiment is point-based legal regulation. The legal experiment, being a gentle method of legal regulation, seems very promising, provided that before it begins, the criteria for its “success” are determined and at the end, the procedure for correlating the specified criteria and the results of the experiment is followed.
Key words: smart legal regulation, advocacy, legal experiment, regulatory sandbox, pilot legal project, state legal bureau.
