Manova N.S. Criminal Procedure Means of Fight against Crime as a Factor of Ensuring the National Security

Introduction: the development of the problems not only of strategy, but also of the tactics of combating crime, and the research of the efficiency of various means of such combating in many respects define the success of the fight against crime and, as a consequence, allow solvingthe questions of ensuring the national security of the country. In this regard, the purpose of the article was to analyze the most promising criminal procedural means of combating crime, the current state of their legal regulation, and the opportunities and areas for further improvement. Methods: the methodological framework for the researchis the general scientific (dialectical, systemic, structural and functional, logical, etc.) and specific scientific (formal and legal, comparative law, historical and legal, etc.) research methods. Results: the author’s standpoint stated in the paper is based on the generalization of knowledge accumulated in the theory of the criminal procedure and the practical experience of using various criminal procedural means for combating crime. Conclusions: the current state of the criminal procedure legislation, its norms and institutions provide for a number of sufficiently effective means to prevent, effectively investigate crimes and minimize (eliminate) their consequences, that is, in general, to fight against crime. However, the desire to improve the efficiency of their use should not run counter to the fundamental principles of the criminal procedure and the general moral foundations of the criminal procedure.
