Abstract. In court practice quite often there is uncertainty in the recognition of the contract as void or invalid. The court finds the agreement invalid or void in the presence of identical bases, although the legislator establishes different legal consequences. The Federal law of March 8, 2015 no. 42-FL tried to make a clear distinction between void and invalid contracts. The changes in the legislation in this field became the subject of the present scientific and practical publication.
