Abstract. The article deals with the system of protection measures for women who became victims of domestic violence. The author demonstrates the scale of the problem of violence in the family and the urgent need of its solution for the whole society.
The basis of the special measures of prevention and suppression of domestic violence should be not only punitive measures against the perpetrators of the violence, but also the measures of social assistance to abused women. The author comes to the conclusion about the necessity of using complex educational, legal and preventive interventions with specific personal characteristics of victims of violence, motivation of violence. It is the use of an integrated approach which will contribute to the effective protection.
