Abstract. Prevention of illegal drug abuse, psychotropic substances and drug addiction in accordance with the acting Russian legislation includes social and psychological testing and (or) medical examination. Measures have preventive and deterrent character and do not aim at punishing for drug use. The aim of examination is providing timely, targeted assistance to those who need it. However, today it is necessary to adjust this procedure in terms of legal pointing to the “voluntary” nature of informed consent to such testing and (or) examination, as otherwise, these actions violate the rights of citizens. It also concerns the age when a person can give consent to test conduction – from fifteen to eighteen years of age – the age of majority as established by the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
Key words: consumption, drugs, psychotropic substances, drug addiction, testing, examination.
