Introduction: currently, the level of development and accessibility of the Internet leads to changes in the ways of obtaining information and communication among the public, displacing traditional mass media. The majority of minors are active Internet users, wherefore, the author sets the goal of researching internet usage as an effective non-procedural tactical-criminalistic means of preventing juvenile delinquency. Methods: the methodological framework for the study is a set of methods of scientific cognition, including such main ones as the methods of consistency, analysis and comparative law. Results: the author’s position justified in the work is based on the legislation and the opinions of the competent scientific community on the use of modern information and communication technologies for the purpose of criminalistic prevention of juvenile delinquency. Conclusions: as a result of the study, the role of the Internet in the lives of minors was revealed, forensic tools and tactical-forensic recommendations for conducting preventive activities for minors by the investigator (inquirer) were proposed.
