Abstract. This article gives us an insight into the history of the establishment of company amalgamation and takeover in Russia as independent forms of corporate restructuring. The author analyses the subject-matter of the legal phenomena under consideration, reveals their dominant features and submits specific proposals related to the improvement of the Russian civil legislation.
