Abstract. The author of this article estimates some novels of the criminal legislation. It is pointed that there is the contradiction of some of them to the basic positions of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation. The author defines the value of a principle of humanism of criminal law as one of the means for selfrestriction of the authorities.
Key words: the principle of humanism in criminal law, the humanization of the criminal legislation, the typical sanction of the criminal rule, the bottom and the top limits of criminal punishment, the differentiation of criminal liability, the humane relation to the person who has committed a crime.
