Abstract. In this article the author analyzes the political content of the globalization process, determines its effect on the transformation of the modern sovereign state, identifies its consequences, which deal with changes of the forms of organization and realization of the supreme authority of state. The author makes a conclusion about the necessity of searching the ways and methods promoting the creation of new forms of the political-territorial organization of modern states, the ones that give opportunities of preserving and strengthening of their sovereignty.
