Abstract. The article presented in the Chief Editor’s Note plays the role of a prologue in the mainstream topic disclosed by a number of academic papers, devoted to the interdisciplinary investigation of tort imperatives. The author determines a set of issues that are sharply facing the modern scientific legal community, the legislator and the law enforcer, the issues allowing asserting that the topic chosen by the editorial board for the interdisciplinary discussion is timely and relevant. The main research approaches aimed at studying, rethinking and solving general and narrowly specialized issues of legal responsibility in certain branches of public and private, international and national law are presented.
