Introduction. Today a large number of international treaties have been accepted and the international law raises the question of not adopting new international agreements, but implementing control over the already taken ones. Methods. The author used scientific methods of research, such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, and private-scientific methods: formal-legal, technical and legal. Results. The author analyzed the validity of decisions made in the framework of the implementation of international environmental agreements as an example of the Kyoto Protocol and the Aarhus Convention. Conclusions formulated by the author’s approach to determining the legal effect of such decisions, show the positive impact of decision-making practices within the provisions of international environmental agreements, as well as contain the problem of interaction between the bodies established under the agreements.

Key words: international environmental law, international treaties, interpretation of international treaties, the Aarhus Convention, the Kyoto Protocol.
