Abstract. The article investigates gender equality in criminal justice. The author defines its concept, purpose and means of support. The concept of gender equality as an integral part of the more general concept of equality of all persons under the law and the courts. Women and men have the same and equal right to justice in criminal proceedings. In a legal state of justice availability should be ensured equally for both men and women. Non-discrimination and in the approaches to the main occupation of the legal profession. It advocates the judicial form, as the most efficient for the resolution of conflicts in the society. Are given for comparison information from the history of the criminal process.
