Abstract. 1 January 2016 is two years from the date of entry into force of the Federal law of April 5, 2013 no. 44-FL “On the contract system in procurement of goods, works, services for state and municipal needs”. The article discusses topical issues of implementation of prosecutorial supervision over execution of legislation on contract system in procurement of goods, works, services for state and municipal needs. In connection with the changes in the legislation, the attention is paid to legal regulation of relations on the implementation of public procurement, its importance to domestic legal systems and the states in general. In order to increase the efficiency of supervisory activity of prosecutors in the exercise of prosecutorial inspections of enforcement of laws on the contract system, the author provides the methods of inspections, allowing prosecutors to consciously and purposefully draw attention to the most significant from the point of view of protection of public interest provisions of the law on the contract system. Special attention is paid to the implementation of prosecutorial supervision over execution of laws in the sphere of efficient use of budget funds, as well as supervision of execution of laws on protection of competition.
