Abstract. The article gives juridical definitions of legal information. The author studies the approaches to the definition of information as a property of matter, as an independent fundamental factor. The provisions of cybernetics and synergies about the nature of information are given. The concept of information is formulated. The examples of approaches to define the legal information are provided. The need for a broader approach to legal information is rejustified.
