Abstract. The materialistic assertion about the provability of any act is peculiar for the classical forensics. The article raises the issue of the applicability of these findings for computer crimes investigation. The authors suggest the formalized definition of forensic significance, as well as discuss the methods of its practical statistical assessment.

Key words: identifiability, provability, forensic significance, forensic insurance, statistical assessment.
