Abstract.In this article, the author raises the problem of determining the functional principles that form the basis of current development of mediation in Russia through the prism of the sectoral and crosssectoral approaches. The author shows a combination of legal and illegal principles based on the functional analysis of the current Russian legislation and the training of mediators in the Russian Federation.
