Abstract. The article analyses the development of the principles of housing rights and the right to adequate housing in the Russian legislation. The author believes that the further implementation of international law in national Russian law that eventually it will require the inclusion of the basic principles of the housing legislation of the principle of the adequacy of housing, the right to which is guaranteed to citizens.
