Abstract. Estimated value of expressions in criminal proceeding and the role of their interpretation are shown in this article. The concept and structure of the interpretation of evaluation expressions are considered, their significance in the regulation of criminal procedure relations and content are determined. The differentiation evaluation of terminology is proposed as there is no common approach to its denotation among the scholars dealing with the evaluative vocabulary. The study of the existing
definitions of the concepts of evaluation leads to the conclusion that there is no common definition of such terms therefore the problems of modernization of interpretive activity are in demand and promising.
