Abstract. The article deals with the analyses of the competence of the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the sphere of human rights protection in the last 45 years since
its establishment. The authors analyze the main international human rights instruments adopted
within the framework of the OIC, and the jurisdiction of the Independent Permanent
Commission on Human Rights of the OIC, established in 2011, and come to the conclusion
that human rights jurisdiction of the OIC has been expanded significantly.
