Abstract. The concept of the judicial reform in the Russian Federation provided the
introduction of a jury trial in Russia. The Constitution of the Russian Federation and the new
Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation fixed legal proceedings of the implementation
with their participation in the cases provided by the Federal Law. Practices of of criminal
trials with the participation of jurors showed its efficiency in the protection of the rights of the
citizens involved in criminal legal proceedings. However, the laws reducing a field of activity
of a jury that, according to the author, shouldn’t be introduced have been adopted in recent
years. The article is devoted to current problems of consideration of cases with the participation
of jurors.
