Abstract. The author of the article focuses on the peculiar features in the development of family relations and the specificity of their regulations (the case study of the Republic of Dagestan). The retrospective analysis carried out by the author shows that relationship in a family depended on an originality of the mechanism of action of customs and traditions of mountain communities. The matter is low-studied for many sciences in this connection, and
demands further studying and research.
