Abstract. In this article the case study of the electronic digital signature (EDS) is shown, as well as the influence of information technology and innovations on the professional activities of modern lawyers. The article is focused on the problem of the legal status of the EDS in different jurisdictions, comparative characteristics of the legal systems in the EU, U.S., Russian Federation and Ukraine is made. The author also examines the problems of the introduction of information technology in the legal system of the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
